George Basil

**George William Basil**, better known as **George Basil**, is a prominent American actor whose passion for the craft took him across continents and multiple careers before settling into acting. Born on January 4, 1978, in Baltimore, Maryland, Basil spent his early life in the suburban town of Essex, outside Baltimore. As a youngster, Basil moved to Greece following his family's relocation. While in Greece, he briefly worked as a chef following his graduation from high school, thereby experiencing a very different lifestyle and profession. Despite this early diverse exposure, Basil's interest in acting began to take a concrete form when he came across a flyer for the Big Stinkin' International Improv & Sketch Comedy Festival. This prompted Basil to move to Austin, where he juggled multiple jobs to make ends meet, including working as a bartender and at a pirate radio station. His first foray into acting was an improv class, which further fueled his passion for the craft and inspired his move to New York City. Here at the Magnet Theatre, Basil honed his acting skills while balancing a job at the Apple store for financial sustenance. His tireless efforts eventually saw him breaking into the acting arena, and he slowly started gaining acting work. His best-known works include films such as 'Werewolves Within' and television roles in popular series such as 'Flaked','Wrecked', and 'Crashing'. Currently, Basil is hailed for his engaging performances. On a personal front, Basil is a father to a daughter and resides in Highland Park, seamlessly balancing his personal and professional life.
