Thomas Griffin Dunne, more popularly known as Griffin Dunne, is an American actor, director, and producer. Dunne, born June 8, 1955, in New York City, kick-started his professional acting career at age 19 with a small supporting role in The Other Side of the Mountain in 1975. He is especially recognized for portraying Jack Goodman in An American Werewolf in London (1981) and Paul Hackett in After Hours (1985). His performance in After Hours garnered him a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. Dunne's television appearances span iconic franchises such as Frasier, Saturday Night Live, Alias, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

His path first crossed with production during the successful 1982 film Chilly Scenes of Winter. This set the stage for more producing credits, including Baby It's You, After Hours, Running on Empty, and Game 6. His directorial debut came with the 1995 short film, Duke of Groove, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Live Action Short Film. Dunne has since directed feature films like Addicted to Love (1997) and Practical Magic (1998). An accomplished writer, he has penned articles for the New York Times, Details Magazine, Porter Magazine, and also released a collection of short stories on Amazon called Air Guitar.
