Following her release from prison, Debbie Ocean, the younger sister of the late Danny Ocean, makes a move to reconnect with her former accomplice, Lou. With a cunning plan in mind that she conceived during her time behind bars, Debbie intends to pull off an elaborate heist that requires assembling a skilled team. They gather talented individuals, including Rose Weil, a fashion designer hounded by tax troubles; Amita, a determined jewelry maker yearning for independence; Nine Ball, a master hacker; Constance, a savvy street hustler; and Tammy, a savvy seller of stolen goods operating discreetly out of her family home.
Debbie’s grand scheme involves stealing the Toussaint, an exquisite $150 million Cartier necklace, during the renowned Met Gala in five weeks. To facilitate the heist, she plans to use Met Gala co-host Daphne Kluger, a naïve and self-absorbed actress, as an unknowing accomplice who will wear the necklace to the event. By manipulating Daphne into selecting Rose as her stylist after a cleverly orchestrated meeting with Daphne’s rival, the plot gains momentum. Rose and Amita successfully approach Cartier, convincing them to allow Daphne to wear the necklace, all while covertly scanning it to replicate a zircon substitute.
As part of the plan, Debbie confronts her ex-boyfriend Claude Becker, an art dealer who betrayed her during their days of art fraud, landing her behind bars. Although Lou becomes wary of Debbie’s motives for revenge, she’s assured that all will unfold seamlessly. However, Rose uncovers an essential issue: the Toussaint can only be unfastened using a specialized magnet wielded by Cartier’s security team. Nine Ball calls upon her sister, Veronica, to craft a comparable magnet just in time for the gala.
When the night of the gala arrives, everything falls into place. Daphne is unknowingly fed soup laced by Lou, which leads her to be ill in the restroom. This gives Constance the perfect opportunity to snatch the necklace. As chaos ensues with the necklace discovered missing, the museum is vacated for a thorough search. To alleviate suspicion, Tammy “finds” the fake necklace, helping end the search prematurely. Meanwhile, Amita manages to retrieve the authentic necklace, breaking it down and reconfiguring it into various pieces of jewelry before handing them to Constance to distribute among the team. To ensure the heist’s success, one real diamond is strategically placed on Becker.
Shortly after the gala wraps up, the counterfeit necklace is recognized when returned to Cartier, prompting an investigation led by John Frazier. With a history tied to the Ocean family, Frazier’s attentiveness targets Debbie; despite his suspicions, he is unable to pin any wrongdoing based on her solid alibi. Maintaining her act of ignorance, Debbie suggests she might have insights about the necklace’s whereabouts. Just as tension builds, Daphne reveals a twist: she was in on the scheme all along, having been tipped off by Rose’s subpar performance.
During a romantic rendezvous with Becker, Daphne unearths the planted diamonds, sending evidence to Frazier for a warranted arrest. To seal Becker’s fate further, Debbie cleverly sells off pieces of the necklace through actresses masquerading as affluent grandmothers, leading to the creation of a money trail all back to Becker. As a result, Becker is apprehended.
In the aftermath of their successful caper, the team celebrates their extraordinary hustle. Daphne curiously questions how they made such a fortune from one necklace. Lou then reveals a delightful twist: while the gala was in chaos, she and “The Amazing” Yen snuck away with some of the Crown Jewels on display, resulting in their unexpected gains.
As each member disperses to explore new ventures, their newfound wealth opens doors. Amita flies to Paris with a Tinder match, Weil clears her debts and starts her own boutique, Constance invests in a chic loft and embarks on a YouTube career, Tammy expands her illicit enterprise, Nine Ball inaugurates a pool bar, Daphne steps into directing, Lou embarks on a cross-country road trip, and Debbie honors her brother Danny at his grave, raising a toast with a martini in his memory.
