Ian McShane

**Ian David McShane**, an English actor, started his acting career in 1962 with his first film 'The Wild and the Willing'. He became popular for his roles in the BBC series Lovejoy, Deadwood, and American Gods. Notable for the title roles, this magnificent actor bagged the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for the original Deadwood series as well as a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. No stranger to the big screen, he also appeared in 'The Wild and the Willing', 'If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium', 'Villain', 'Sexy Beast', 'Hot Rod', 'Shrek the Third', 'Kung Fu Panda', 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides', and the 'John Wick' series. Born in Blackburn, Lancashire in 1942, McShane had his dramatic education from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He made waves early in his career in UK television series such as 'Wuthering Heights', and 'Jesus of Nazareth'. He went on to impress American audiences with his performance in the HBO series Deadwood, which won him a Golden Globe. McShane's diverse acting career has seen him play roles from Robert Bryson in Babylon 5: The River of Souls to King Silas Benjamin in Kings and Bishop Waleran Bigod in The Pillars of the Earth. In 2017, he announced the creation of a two-hour Deadwood film, for which he acted as a producer.
