Daniel Jason Sudeikis (born September 18, 1975) is an American actor, comedian, and screenwriter who came to prominence in the 1990s. He honed his craft in improv comedy, performing with several prominent comedy troupes. Sudeikis joined the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live in 2003 as a writer and later became a cast member for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013, portraying memorable characters like Joe Biden and Mitt Romney. From 2020 to 2023, Sudeikis co-created and starred in the critically-acclaimed Apple TV+ sports comedy series, Ted Lasso, which earned him four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. He also played prominent roles in The Cleveland Show (2009-2013). In addition to TV, Jason had lead roles in films such as Horrible Bosses (2011) and its sequel, Horrible Bosses 2 (2014), We're the Millers (2013) and several indie hits like Sleeping with Other People (2015), and Colossal (2016). He has also provided voice work in several animated films. He was born with anosmia and has no sense of smell. \n \nJason, originally from Fairfax, Virginia, moved with his family to Overland Park within Johnson County, Kansas, which he describes as his hometown. He graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School before attending Fort Scott Community College on a basketball scholarship, but left before completing his degree. His early career in the 1990s began in improv comedy. Later, he was cast in The Second City Touring Company and became a founding member of The Second City Las Vegas. His leap to prominence came when he was hired as a sketch writer for Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 2003. He continued to excel in different roles and media, including film and television. Despite his successful career, Sudeikis is also known for his charity work. He has raised more than $21 million for the Cancer Center at Children's Mercy Hospital through his participation in the Big Slick event.
