What Ivy League school does Molly get into?

Plot Summary

As the last day of high school dawns, inseparable friends Amy and Molly prepare to part ways as they embark on their respective Ivy League journeys. These two über-achievers have been besties since childhood, but their peers view them with a mixture of envy and disdain. Molly, the class president, takes her role too seriously, while Amy has been out for two years and harbors a secret crush on Ryan (Victoria Ruesga). It’s no surprise then that Molly urges Amy to take a chance and connect with Ryan before they graduate.

On the eve of their graduation, Molly’s world is turned upside down when she overhears her classmates discussing her in the bathroom. Her pride wounded, Molly confronts them and boasts about getting into Yale, only to be met with revelations that despite their party-hard reputation, others have also secured coveted spots at top colleges. Stunned, a flustered Molly unleashes her frustrations as her classmates celebrate the end of high school. In a moment of clarity, she implores Amy to cherish their remaining time together and suggests they attend Nick’s (Mason Gooding) graduation party at his aunt’s house.

Initially hesitant, Amy eventually agrees to join Molly for a night out. As they navigate the unfamiliar territory of Nick’s party, they quickly realize that neither of them knows the address. In a last-ditch effort to salvage their plans, Molly contacts Jared (Skyler Gisondo), a wealthy classmate who harbors a secret crush on her. Though she views him as a total loser, he offers to bring them to his unattended party on a yacht, where they encounter his friend Gigi (Billie Lourd) indulging in reckless behavior. As the night wears on, Amy suggests calling it quits, but Molly’s insistent nature prevails, and Amy consents to continue with the evening.

Just as things seem like they’re going smoothly, the girls hail a Lyft only to be surprised by their principal, Jordan Brown (Jason Sudeikis), behind the wheel. As the night spirals out of control, it becomes clear that these two best friends are in for an unforgettable adventure before they bid farewell to their high school days.

Here’s my rephrased version of the section:

As a bizarre sequence of events unfolds, Brown deposits Amy and Molly at what they mistakenly believe is Nick’s aunt’s residence. Unbeknownst to them, this turns out to be George’s (Noah Galvin) abode, where he’s hosting an intriguing murder mystery party that just so happens to feature Gigi in attendance. It soon becomes apparent that the strawberries they devoured on the yacht were surreptitiously laced with a hallucinogenic substance, and Amy and Molly soon find themselves experiencing a wild and disorienting ride as their perceptions become distorted. The girls’ reality becomes a fantastical realm where they’re transported into George’s sister’s fashion doll universe. They manage to extricate themselves from this surreal experience and track down the location of Nick’s party through a pizza delivery man named Pat (Mike O’Brien), who unwittingly provides them with the crucial information they need to get there.

Upon their arrival, Amy seeks out Ryan while Molly makes her way to Nick, unaware that Gigi has been manipulating her crush on him. The situation takes an unexpected turn when Amy discovers Ryan making out with Nick, leaving her feeling embarrassed and heartbroken. As she tries to process this revelation, she finds solace in her friendship with Molly but is met with resistance as Molly refuses to acknowledge Amy’s distress. This confrontation sparks a heated argument between the two friends, which ultimately culminates in Amy revealing that she’s chosen to take a gap year to travel to Botswana, motivated by her resentment towards Molly’s controlling nature.

The escalating tensions prompt Amy to storm off and seek solace in the bathroom, where she crosses paths with Hope (Diana Silvers), another classmate. Initially, their encounter is marked by tension and hostility, but as they spend more time together, they develop a deeper connection that ultimately leads to a passionate kiss. However, their moment of intimacy is abruptly interrupted when Amy vomits on Hope, shattering the mood. The partygoers are forced to scatter as the police arrive, prompting Molly to frantically search for her missing friend. In the end, she finds solace in the company of Triple A (Molly Gordon), a popular student who shares her frustration with the societal pressures and stereotypes that both women have faced.

As the curtain rises on what promises to be a momentous day for Molly (played by [actress name]), the weight of regret settles heavily upon her shoulders. The memories of a tumultuous night linger, casting a shadow over the euphoria of graduation. It is then that she stumbles upon the digital buzz surrounding Amy’s daring exploits, which had allowed everyone to escape the clutches of the authorities and earned her a heroic arrest. With a heavy heart, Molly pays a visit to Amy behind bars, tenderly apologizing for her own Machiavellian machinations. The emotional toll is palpable as the two former adversaries slowly begin to mend their fractured bond.

As their reconciliation takes hold, Molly uncovers a shocking secret - the pizza delivery driver, a seemingly innocuous figure, harbors a dark and sinister intent. With this newfound knowledge, Molly and Amy strike a deal that would secure Amy’s release from captivity. The dynamic duo commandeers Jared’s vehicle, careening towards graduation with an air of recklessness. Amidst the jubilant atmosphere, Molly seizes the spotlight, stealing the show with a spontaneous valedictorian speech and a bold onstage smooch with Jared (played by [actor name]), sending the crowd into raptures.

In the days that follow, as Amy readies herself for an African adventure in Botswana, Hope pays a visit to share her phone number. Molly plays the supportive friend, driving Amy to the airport where tears flow freely during their poignant goodbye. As Molly departs, the sounds of departure fade into the distance only to be replaced by the sudden appearance of Amy, who insists they have just enough time for a pre-flight catch-up. The suggestion of pancakes proves irresistible to Molly, and she eagerly agrees, surrendering to the joy of the present moment as their car hurtles towards a pancake-filled future.
