Jeff Goldblum

**Jeffrey Lynn Goldblum**, an American actor and musician born on October 22, 1952, has starred in some of the highest-grossing films, such as *Jurassic Park* (1993) and *Independence Day* (1996), along with their sequels. He made his acting debut in *Death Wish* (1974) with early roles in *California Split* (1974), *Nashville* (1975), and *Annie Hall* (1977). Goldblum gained wider attention for his roles in *Invasion of the Body Snatchers* (1978), *The Big Chill* (1983), and *The Fly* (1986) and was once nominated for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film nomination for *Little Surprises*. His career resurgence came with his roles in the Wes Anderson films *The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou* (2004), *The Grand Budapest Hotel* (2014), *Isle of Dogs* (2018), and *Asteroid City* (2023). Goldblum is recognized for his role as Grandmaster in Marvel films and also plays the Wizard in *Wicked* (2024) and *Wicked Part Two* (2025). Aside from his film appearances, Goldblum featured in several TV series and hosted his own series, *The World According to Jeff Goldblum* (2019–2022). With his jazz band, they released their first album, *The Capitol Studios Sessions*, in 2018. Goldblum was born to Jewish parents in West Homestead, Pennsylvania. His interest in Jazz music is attributed to his brother Rick's influence during their childhood. At the age of 17, Goldblum moved to New York City to become an actor and studied at the renowned Neighborhood Playhouse under acting coach Sanford Meisner. Throughout his career, he has played varied roles, from a home-invading thug in *Death Wish* (1974) to the ringleader of Holocaust survivors in *Adam Resurrected*. He has also dabbled in teaching acting and directing live-action short films. His jazz band - the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra - regularly performed at the Carlyle Hotel, and they released multiple studio albums. In 2019, Goldblum featured in the Disney+ show *The World According to Jeff Goldblum*, and in 2021, a biography about him was written by Travis M. Andrews of the Washington Post.
