**Jena Laine Malone**, born November 21, 1984, is a renowned American actress. Born in Sparks, Nevada, she was inspired to become an actress after watching her mother perform in local theatre productions. Convinced of her passion, she moved to Los Angeles alongside her mother. After acing various auditions, Malone landed critical roles in television films like 'Bastard Out of Carolina' (1996) and 'Hope' (1997), earning her nominations for Independent Spirit and Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Golden Globe Award respectively. She further won a Saturn Award for her performance in 'Contact' (1997) and 'Stepmom' (1998).
