What's After the Movie
Jesse Plemons, an American actor, started his career as a child actor and first earned widespread recognition for his role as Landry Clarke in the NBC drama series Friday Night Lights (2006–2011). He later rose to fame as Todd Alquist in season 5 of the AMC crime drama series Breaking Bad (2012–2013) and its sequel film El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019). Plemons received his first Primetime Emmy Award nomination and a Critics' Choice Television Award for his role in season 2 of the FX anthology series Fargo (2015). His performance in "USS Callister", an episode of the Netflix anthology series Black Mirror (2017), earned him his second Emmy nomination. Plemons has also played supporting roles in films such as The Master (2012), Bridge of Spies (2015), Game Night (2018), The Irishman (2019), Judas and the Black Messiah (2021), and Killers of the Flower Moon (2023). He starred in Other People (2016) and I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020), earning a Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor for his performance in Kinds of Kindness (2024). Born and raised in Texas, Plemons started his acting journey with a Coca-Cola commercial at age 3 and later delved into film and television. Some of the notable early roles include Varsity Blues (1999), All the Pretty Horses (2000), and Children on their Birthdays (2002). He has been affiliated with critically acclaimed series like Breaking Bad and Fargo, earning him the nickname "Meth Damon". He shares a considerable resemblance with actor Matt Damon, which also reflects in their acting choices, for instance, both of them played roles in the Paul Thomas Anderson drama The Master. Plemons was also in consideration for Star Wars Episode VII (Star Wars: The Force Awakens). In the future, he is expected to appear in a leading role in a science fiction comedy film Bugonia.
