Joe Taslim

Johannes Taslim (born 23 June 1981), known professionally as Joe Taslim, is a celebrated Indonesian actor, martial artist, and model. Renowned for his martial arts skills, Taslim was part of the Indonesian national judo team from 1997 to 2009. His achievements in martial arts competitions are commendable - a three-time medalist at the prestigious Southeast Asian Games and a Gold medalist at the 2008 Pekan Olahraga Nasional. His acting career picked up with notable roles in films such as 'The Raid' (2011), 'Fast & Furious 6' (2013), 'Star Trek Beyond' (2016), and 'Mortal Kombat' (2021). Apart from his film career, Taslim also made his mark in the television industry, featuring prominently as Li Yong in the series 'Warrior'. Prior to his acting career, Taslim was working as a model in print ads and commercials. His breakout role came in 2008 with the film 'Karma'. He continued to wow audiences with his martial arts-oriented roles, clinching a part in HBO Asia's first action horror film, 'Dead Mine'. He went on to play the villanous Jah in 'Fast & Furious 6', using his martial arts prowess to battle the film's protagonists. In recent years, Taslim was seen in Netflix's action thriller 'The Night Comes for Us', and in the reboot of 'Mortal Kombat' where he played Sub-Zero.
