Joel Edgerton

**Joel Edgerton** (born 23 June 1974) is an accomplished Australian actor and filmmaker. He first gained popularity for portraying Will McGill on the Australian drama series The Secret Life of Us (2001–2002), and later, graced international audiences with his depiction of Owen Lars in the Star Wars films Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005). Joel reprised this role in the Disney+ series, Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022). His empathetic portrayal of Richard Loving in the historical drama Loving (2016) earned him a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture. Joel has notably worked in Australian cinema, with memorable performances in films like The Square (2008), Animal Kingdom (2010) and Felony (2013).
