John Hollingworth is a well-known English actor, with a rich career in film, stage, and radio. Born on 21 August 1981 in Keighley, Bradford, West Yorkshire, Hollingworth's love for the acting field developed after an injury which ended his rugby career. He was trained as an actor at the esteemed Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) after completing his studies at Bradford Grammar School and Trinity College, Dublin. He has given notable performances in TV shows like 'Poldark', 'Doc Martin', 'Wuthering Heights', 'Top Coppers', 'Arthur & George', 'Da Vinci's Demons', 'Dark Angel', 'The Hour' and 'Napoleon'. His early career break came with roles in National Youth Theatre productions such as 'The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby', 'The Threepenny Opera' and 'The Master and Margarita'. Alongside his television career, Hollingworth has had an extensive career on stage, including leading roles in 'Making Noise Quietly', 'Our Country's Good', 'An Intervention' and 'Earthquakes in London'. His portrayal as Nick Clegg at the Tricycle Theatre was particularly noted. Adding to his theatre excellency, he was Offie-nominated for his role in 'The Sugar Syndrome' at the Orange Tree Theatre in 2020, and acted in 'Trouble In Mind' at The National Theatre during 2021/2022.
