Jude Law

David Jude Heyworth Law, known as Jude Law, is a distinguished English actor. His impressive acting career journey began in theatre before he secured minor roles in various UK television productions and feature films. His breakthrough performance came from his role in Anthony Minghella's film The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) which earned him the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, as well as an Academy Award nomination. Law continued to find both critical and commercial success in subsequent films like A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001), Road to Perdition (2002), and Cold Mountain (2003), the last of which earned him Academy Award and BAFTA nominations. His most successful roles include his portrayal of Dr. Watson in Sherlock Holmes (2009) and its sequel in 2011, a young Albus Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) and its sequel (2022), and Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel (2019). Alongside his film career, Law has also flourished in theatre, having performed in several West End and Broadway productions which have earned him two Tony Award nominations. He was also honored with the Honorary César and was knighted by the French government. Law was born on 29 December 1972 in the Lewisham district of London.
