KiKi Layne

Kiandra 'KiKi' Layne, born on December 10, 1991, is a distinguished American actress renowned for her riveting performances in various film genres. She catapulted into the limelight with her starring roles in films such as the romantic drama If Beale Street Could Talk (2018), the drama Native Son (2019), the action superhero film The Old Guard (2020), and the romantic comedy Coming 2 America (2021). Originating from Cincinnati, Ohio, Layne nurtured her talent earning a BFA in acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University in 2014. Confident in her career choice since childhood, her influence seeped from her love of The Lion King and creating imaginative narratives with her toys.

Layne's professinal acting debut was with the drama series The Chi, filmed in 2015, courtesy of Lena Waithe. Her career knack expands beyond acting, stretching into the fashion industry where she modeled for the coveted fashion title, Kate Spade New York. Layne's career-defining moment, however, was her casting in Barry Jenkins' 2018 drama If Beale Street Could Talk. Proving herself an adaptable actress, Layne went on to star in the 2019 screen adaptation of Richard Wright’s 1940 novel Native Son, then teamed with Charlize Theron in 2020's The Old Guard, and later appeared in the Amazon Prime sequel Coming 2 America in 2021. She currently plays Detective Ellie Steckler in Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers.
