Kim F. Coates, born February 21, 1958, is a Canadian-American actor who has made significant contributions to both the Canadian and American film industry as well as television series. He has showcased his acting prowess on Broadway, portraying characters such as Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire and the lead role of Macbeth performed at the Stratford Festival. He is best recognized for his role as Alexander "Tig" Trager in the FX series Sons of Anarchy and as Declan Gardiner in the Citytv series Bad Blood, with recurring roles in several series including Prison Break, Cold Case, CSI and CSI: Miami. Coates' filmography includes The Last Boy Scout (1991), Bad Boys (1995), King of Sorrow (2007), and Goon (2011).

Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, Kim made his foray into the world of acting during his time at the University of Saskatchewan, where a single drama course was sufficient to ignite his passion for the performing arts. His early career saw him becoming the youngest person to play the title role of Macbeth at the Stratford Festival in Canada. Further solidifying his prominence in the industry, Coates won the award for Best Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role for his portrayal of gangster Declan Gardiner in the television series Bad Blood at the 7th Canadian Screen Awards. He is also a philanthropist supporting causes such as One Heart Source and The Pinball Clemons Foundation.
