Ólafur Darri Ólafsson

Ólafur Darri Ólafsson began his career in theater after graduating from the Icelandic Drama School in 1998. He became involved in numerous productions with the National Theatre of Iceland and Reykjavík City Theatre, also collaborating with various independent theatre groups. He is one of the co-founders of the Vesturport Theatre in Reykjavík. Ólafur's breakthrough to international recognition came with his portrayal of Andri, the police chief in Seyðisfjörður, eastern Iceland in the series Trapped.

A versatile actor, not a typical leading-man as said by Baltasar Kormákur who created the Trapped series, Ólafur grounded his performance as the character on his personal experiences. In 2016, showing a never-before-seen side of him, Ólafur lip synced in a music video for the Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men's Winter Sound. His other notable work includes appearing in AMC's series adaptation of Joe Hill's NOS4A2 as Bing Partridge in 2019. He is also an esteemed Icelandic voice-over artist and contributed his voice to various animated films, including Ice Age, Lilo & Stitch, Brother Bear, and Kung Fu Panda.
