Martin Sensmeier

Martin Sensmeier, an American actor and model, was born on June 27, 1985. He has a noteworthy heritage of Alaska Native and European American descent. He is renowned for emulating various Native American roles. Sensmeier's acting career took off when he starred in the 2016 remake of The Magnificent Seven and took a recurring role as 'Wanahton' in HBO's Westworld (2018). He was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and identifies with the cultures of his Alaska Native grandmothers. He is a citizen of the Central Council of the Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (Tlingit & Haida).

Before his acting career, Sensmeier worked as a welder and on an oil rig for Doyon Drilling. He resigned, chasing an acting dream in Los Angeles. Besides acting, Sensmeier modeled professionally in Los Angeles and New York. In recent times, Sensmeier made his role debut in the TV series Yellowstone as a physical therapist and also played the role of Sam, a Comanche warrior, in the prequel 1883; both of which were directed by Taylor Sheridan. In 2020, Sensmeier ventured into the gaming industry; he voiced Chief Eddy in the English version of Tell Me Why, a video game set in Alaska. His most recent film, a western thriller titled Cottonmouth, is set to release in 2024.
