Michael Wincott

Michael Anthony Claudio Wincott, born on January 21, 1958, is a well-known Canadian actor notable for his rich, raspy voice that has often scores him villainous roles. Some of his most recognized roles include Guy of Gisbourne in 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' (1991), Top Dollar in 'The Crow' (1994), Philo Gant in 'Strange Days' (1995), Frank Elgyn in 'Alien Resurrection' (1997), Adrian Cross in '24: Live Another Day' (2014), and Antlers Holst in 'Nope' (2022). Wincott has frequently worked with esteemed directors like Oliver Stone, Julian Schnabel, Ridley Scott, Terrence Malick, Michael Cimino, and Jim Jarmusch.

The Toronto-born actor grew up in an east-end suburb with an English father and an Italian mother. He has a brother named Jeff, also an actor and martial artist. From a young age, Wincott was drawn to cinema, taking drama classes in high school before studying at Victoria University and progressing to the Juilliard School in New York City. His acting career kick-started in 1976 with his debut in a film titled 'Earthbound'. Post graduation from Juilliard, Wincott quickly scored roles in movies and popular American TV series.
