Michelle Renee Forbes Guajardo, known professionally as Michelle Forbes, is an American actress. She was born on January 8, 1965 in Austin, Texas, and of Mexican-American heritage. Forbes attracted attention for her double role in the daytime soap opera 'Guiding Light,' earning her a Daytime Emmy Award nomination. Other notable roles include Ensign Ro Laren in Star Trek: The Next Generation and her regular role as a medical examiner Julianna Cox on Homicide: Life on the Street during the 1990s. She also had a significant role in films like 'Escape from L.A.', 'Kalifornia', 'Swimming with Sharks', and 'Columbus.' In 2011-2012, Forbes starred in the AMC television series 'The Killing', gaining a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. In June 2019, it was announced that Forbes had joined the action drama series 'Treadstone', a prequel/sequel to the Bourne franchise. Forbes initially aspired to become a ballet dancer before switching to acting. She received formal acting training at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston. At the age of 16, she began her professional acting career after unsuccessful auditioning for a film while on holiday in New York City.
