Nasim Pedrad

Nasim Pedrad (born November 18, 1981) is an esteemed American actress and comedian originating from Tehran, Iran. Her introduction to mainstream American entertainment came in 2009 through the NBC sketch comedy and variety series Saturday Night Live, where she was a team member until 2014. Her career further escalated to lead roles in popular entertainment series including the Fox sitcoms Mulaney and New Girl, the Fox horror comedy series Scream Queens, as well as the TBS science fiction comedy series People of Earth, playing out across various years from 2014 to 2017. Pedrad has also made her notable mark in the film industry, beginning with voice roles in animated films such as The Lorax (2012) and Despicable Me 2 (2013) and with her impressive performances in comedy films like Cooties and Desperados. Along with her active performance career, Pedrad showcases her creativity behind the scenes as the creator, producer, and star of the TBS/The Roku Channel sitcom Chad. Before claiming her fame, Pedrad had made her television debut in 2006 in an episode of Gilmore Girls with just two lines. Since then, her rise has been remarkable and has included roles in ER, The Winner, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
