Oscar Nuñez

Óscar Núñez, sometimes credited Oscar Nunez, is a Cuban-American actor and comedian, known for his role as Óscar Martínez on NBC's The Office. Born in Cuba, his parents moved to Boston when he was two before finally settling in Union City, New Jersey, when he was four. He attended various institutes in New York and became a certified dental technician after studying at the Magna Institute of Dental Technology. Núñez started his comedy career in New York, performing over 300 shows with The Shock of the Funny theater company. In addition to his theater work, he appeared in many TV shows before moving to Los Angeles in the mid-1990s. He joined The Groundlings and wrote and starred in a production called Smooth Down There.

His work includes Malcolm in the Middle, 24, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Reno 911!, The District, and Mad TV. Apart from The Office, he was the creator and executive producer of the Comedy Central series Halfway Home, where he also co-starred. His film credits include notable roles in The Italian Job, Reno 911!: Miami, When Do We Eat?, The Proposal, and Prosecuting Casey Anthony. One of his recent prominent roles was of Desi Arnaz in the world production of I Love Lucy: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Sitcom. From 2019 to 2020, he portrayed the character of Assistant Principal Carlos Hernandez on the Netflix original comedy series Mr. Iglesias.
