Dashing Through the Snow 2023

Eddie Garrick (social worker) has been soured on the holiday season since his childhood, when a mall Santa failed to keep his parents together. As an adult, he’s separated from his wife Allison and struggling to connect with their daughter Charlotte. While Allison is busy wrapping up last-minute shopping, Eddie spends time with Charlotte, then heads to his neighbor’s house to feed their cat. There, he encounters Nicholas Sinter-Claus, or Nick for short, a man claiming to be the genuine article.

Nick, however, appears utterly disenchanted with everything around him and is on high alert due to three individuals tailing him. Eddie decides to take Nick in, believing him to be mentally unstable, and Charlotte tags along for the ride. As they make their way to the hospital, Nick regales them with tales about himself and Charlotte, convincing her that he’s indeed the embodiment of Christmas magic.

As they attempt to escape from Nick’s pursuers, the trio finds themselves on a wild goose chase, dodging obstacles at every turn. Their car breaks down, forcing them to hail a taxi, only for the three individuals to once again tail them. Nick makes a daring escape by rolling out of the moving vehicle and disappearing into a Santa-themed club, where Eddie and Charlotte must navigate a sea of Santas to catch up with him.

Their next stop is the warehouse of a quirky family, the Truckles, who are obsessed with all things Christmas. With their help, they track down Nick’s whereabouts once more, only for him to make another hasty exit, compelling Eddie and Charlotte to give chase once more.

It’s at this point that Nick reveals his true motivations: he’s been on the run from a group of nefarious individuals who work for none other than Conrad Harf, a corrupt congressman with a secret to hide. The tablet containing incriminating evidence had accidentally fallen into Nick’s possession, and he’s been trying to evade those seeking to silence him.

As Eddie becomes increasingly convinced that Nick is just another common burglar, he calls the authorities to apprehend him, much to Charlotte’s dismay. But as tensions escalate, it remains to be seen whether Nick will finally find the safety and redemption he so desperately seeks.

As the police station’s doors swing open, Nick is whisked away by what he soon discovers are Conrad’s loyal henchmen in disguise. Meanwhile, Eddie has a lightbulb moment when he recalls that Nick had left the tablet with him and, upon unlocking it, uncovers the shocking truth that his friend had been telling all along.

With this newfound knowledge, Eddie teams up with Charlotte to launch a daring rescue mission to track down their kidnapped companion. Their search leads them straight to Conrad’s Christmas party at City Hall, where Nick is being held captive. Eddie arrives just in time to try and free Nick, but they’re both caught off guard by Conrad’s goons.

Undeterred, Eddie uses his trusty reindeer caller to summon the majestic creatures that had been Nick’s loyal companions all along. As the reindeer swoop in, they effortlessly dispatch the nefarious gang, leaving Conrad and his cohorts in handcuffs. With justice served, Nick takes a moment to show kindness to his former adversary, gifting him an Action Arthur action figure he’d always wanted as a child.

As Nick departs with his reindeer entourage, Eddie and Charlotte return home to find Allison stunned by their outlandish tales of Christmas magic. But just as she’s about to dismiss their claims, Nick himself appears, bearing a special gift - a playful pup named Bulldozer that he’d earlier promised Eddie. This heartwarming gesture rekindles the romance between Eddie and Allison, who extend an invitation to the Truckle family to join them for the holidays. As Nick soars off into the night sky, his work as Santa’s right-hand man finally complete, the stage is set for a joyous holiday season filled with love, laughter, and festive cheer.
