Pamela Adlon, née Segall (born July 9, 1966) is a multi-talented American actress, writer, and director who has made substantial contributions to both live-action and animation. Adlon made her acting debut in the musical sequel film, Grease 2, in 1982. She is recognized for providing the voice of Bobby Hill in the critically acclaimed animated comedy series King of the Hill (1997–2010), for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award. Her other notable voice-over roles include Baloo in Jungle Cubs, the title character in Pajama Sam, among many others. Adlon also played notable roles in the comedy-drama series Californication (2007–2014) and Louie (2010–2015), also serving as a writer and producer on the latter. From 2016 to 2022, she starred as Sam Fox on the acclaimed FX comedy-drama series Better Things, which she also co-created, wrote, produced, and directed. In addition to TV, she has also starred in numerous films such as Say Anything..., Bed of Roses, and I Love You, Daddy. Born and raised in New York City, Adlon began performing at age nine, with her career taking her bi-coastally between Los Angeles and New York. She has had a substantial career in voice-over work, earning further acclaim for her talent in embodying various characters. In her personal life, Adlon was married to Felix Adlon from 1996 to 2010, with whom she has three children, and became a citizen of the United Kingdom in January 2020.
