Roger Moore

Sir Roger Moore was an English actor born on October 14, 1927 in Stockwell, London. He is best known for portraying James Bond in seven feature films from 1973 to 1985, the most of any actor in the Eon-produced entries. Prior to his tenure as Bond, Moore played the lead role in the British mystery thriller series 'The Saint' from 1962 to 1969. Moore continued to act on screen following his retirement from the Bond franchise, with his final appearance in a pilot for a new 'Saint' series that was released as a television film in 2017.

Beyond his successful acting career, Moore was an active humanitarian, appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 1991. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003 for his services to charity. He also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to the film industry in 2007, and was made a Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government in 2008.
