Russell Edward Brand, born on June 4, 1975, is an English podcaster, author, activist, and former actor and comedian who gained fame during his tenure hosting the television show Big Brother's Big Mouth. Noteworthy films in which he has starred include Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), Get Him to the Greek (2010), and Arthur (2011). Simultaneously, Brand's noteworthy stand-up specials include Scandalous (2009) and Messiah Complex (2013). Known for his frankness regarding personal struggles with addiction, he has used his platform to advocate for decriminalization of drugs and wealth redistribution. His reputation, however, is not without controversy due to his provocative behaviour, past drug use, and most recently, multiple allegations of sexual assault, unprofessional behavior on sets, and promoting conspiracies theories especially related to COVID-19. The allegations led to his being dropped by his agent and his YouTube channel being demonetized. He has since migrated his content to Rumble, promoted Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during his presidential campaign, and continued expressing his beliefs through his podcast, 'Stay Free with Russell Brand'.
