Scoot McNairy

John Marcus 'Scoot' McNairy, known for his work both in front of and behind the camera, was born on November 11, 1977, in Dallas, Texas. He gained his nickname 'Scoot' while still a toddler, from his habit of scooting around on his butt. McNairy had an early introduction to acting, participating in theater programs during his after-school hours. Interested in film production and photography, he moved to Los Angeles to study his passion further, dropping out after a year to work on film sets. He began his acting career as an extra, eventually landing jobs in over 200 TV commercials and later securing roles in feature films. During the 2000s, McNairy carved a niche for himself portraying young men with a unique, rebellious edge. He has appeared in high-profile films such as 'Monsters', 'Argo', '12 Years a Slave', 'Gone Girl', 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', and 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'. His television work is equally impressive, with key roles in the AMC period drama 'Halt and Catch Fire', Netflix's 'Godless' and 'Narcos: Mexico', and Showtime's 'The Comey Rule'. McNairy has also dabbled in production; his 2007 film 'In Search of a Midnight Kiss', in which he starred and produced, is considered his breakout project. As of July 2022, McNairy is filming 'The Line' and is set to star in several upcoming films including 'Fairyland', a Joseph McCarthy biopic, 'Brightwater', 'Blood for Dust', and 'Nightbitch'. In addition to his acting and producing work, McNairy has also made appearances in music videos, which further diversifies his artistic portfolio.
