Steven Yeun

Steven Yeun, born as Yeun Sang-Yeop on December 21, 1983, in Seoul, South Korea, became known internationally for his role as Glenn Rhee on the TV series The Walking Dead from 2010 to 2016. Since then, he has earned critical acclaim for his roles in the thriller Burning (2018), and the drama Minari (2020), the latter earning him a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actor, making him the first Asian American actor to be nominated in this category. In 2023, he starred in the dark comedy series Beef, and his brilliant performance won him two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.

He has also appeared in films such as Okja (2017), Sorry to Bother You (2018), The Humans (2021), and Nope (2022), and happens to be an accomplished voice actor, lending his voice to main characters in animated series such as Voltron: Legendary Defender (2016–2018), Tales of Arcadia (2016–2021), Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters (2017–2018), Final Space (2018–2021), Tuca & Bertie (2019–2022), and Invincible (2021–present). Yeun was born to Korean parents and moved to Canada with his family in 1988. He then moved to the U.S. and lived in Taylor, Michigan, and then Troy, Michigan, where he lived until he graduated from Troy High School. He later obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology with a concentration in neuroscience from Kalamazoo College.
