Asunción Sánchez Abellán, better known as Susi Sánchez, is a prolific Spanish theatre, film, and television actress, born March 21, 1955 in Valencia, Spain. Her career spans across different media with a notable display of versatility. Best known for her roles in the Vicente Aranda film Mad Love, where she remarkably embodied Queen Isabella I, and in the plays 'Cara de plata' and 'Mujeres soñaron caballos', she showed her substantial acting prowess. These three roles earned her nominations for the Spanish Actors and Actresses Union Awards, subsequently leading to her winning as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 'Cara de plata'. In 2015, she expanded her portfolio further, joining the cast of the TV series 'Carlos, rey emperador', playing Louise of Savoy. A constant advocate for LGBT rights, Susi Sánchez was known to be the long-time romantic partner of fellow actress and acclaimed acting coach Consuelo Trujillo.
