Thomasin Katherin Helen Harcourt McKenzie, born July 26, 2000, is a celebrated New Zealand actress best recognized for playing a young girl in isolation in Debra Granik's drama film Leave No Trace (2018). This role brought her into the limelight and earned her the National Board of Review Award for Breakthrough Performance. She kept this momentum, securing significant roles in The King, True History of the Kelly Gang, and a Jewish girl in the critically acclaimed film Jojo Rabbit in 2019. By 2021, she had ranked headline positions in M. Night Shyamalan's thrilling film Old and Edgar Wright's masterpiece Last Night in Soho. McKenzie also has an impressive performance in Jane Campion's western film The Power of the Dog and the thriller Eileen (2023) in which she played the title role.

Born in Wellington, New Zealand, McKenzie was raised in a family with deep roots in the entertainment industry. Her parents are actress and acting coach, Dame Miranda Harcourt, and director, Stuart McKenzie. Her acting journey began with a minor role in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014), followed by her portrayal of Louise Nicholas in Consent: The Louise Nicholas Story (2014) and Pixie Hannah in the soap opera Shortland Street. McKenzie continued to shift upwards in her career, receiving praise and recognition, ultimately blossomming to a top-tier actress with an outstanding repertoire, including her award-winning role in Leave No Trace and a performance in The King alongside Hollywood A-listers Timothée Chalamet, Joel Edgerton, and Robert Pattinson.
