Tony Todd

**Anthony Tiran Todd**, popularly known as **Tony Todd**, was an acclaimed American actor whose career spanned across five decades from 1980-2024. He had a penchant for taking on compelling characters, playing the iconic roles such as the titular character in the Candyman film series from 1992–2021 and William Bludworth in the Final Destination franchise from 2000–2025. Notably, he was nominated at the Critics' Choice and Fangoria Chainsaw Awards for the former. Todd's filmography extends beyond the horror genre, including significant roles in films like Platoon (1986), The Crow (1994), and The Rock (1996), to name a few. In addition to his impressive filmography, Todd also graced television with his talent, playing roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1990–1991) and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1996). He left a mark on the MTV series Scream (2019). Alongside acting, Todd also found success in voice acting, voicing the vortigaunt in the Half-Life series, the Fallen in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Venom in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, among others. Todd was born on December 4, 1954, in Washington, D.C., son of Evetta Lyons Gaither. His passion for drama led him to study theatre at the University of Connecticut, the Eugene O'Neill National Actors Theatre Institute, and the Trinity Repertory Company. Todd acted alongside Hollywood's biggest stars in over 100 television and theatrical films. His captivating baritone voice lent itself well to narration. Todd passed away on November 6, 2024, leaving behind a rich legacy.
