Trevante Rhodes

**Trevante Nemour Rhodes**, widely known as Trevante Rhodes, was born on February 10, 1990, and is a distinguished American actor. He earned his claim to fame in 2016, with an unforgettable performance as 'Black' (Adult Chiron) in the Academy Award-winning movie, _Moonlight_. Following this, he has continued to impress on-screen in films such as _The Predator_ (2018), _Bird Box_ (2018), and _The United States vs. Billie Holiday_ (2021). Not just a successful actor, Rhodes previously excelled in track and field as a sprinter, even capturing a gold medal at the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships in 2009. He was born in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, to parents Demour Dangelo and Jessi Rhodes, and has a brother named Giovanni. The family moved to Little Elm, Texas when he was ten. In his athletic career, Rhodes earned four letters in both football and track and field, specializing in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. He nursed an ACL injury during his senior year but still managed to bag an athletic scholarship in track and field to the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied kinesiology. As a sprinter for the Texas Longhorns from 2008 to 2012, he aided the U.S. team in seizing a gold medal in the 4×100 metres relay event at the 2009 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships. Trevante's acting career blossomed since 2012, taking on diverse roles in films and TV series, most notably as Ramsey in the Tyler Perry / OWN series _If Loving You Is Wrong_, and his role in Fox series _Gang Related_ and the HBO's _Westworld_. His critically acclaimed performance in _Moonlight_ in 2016 added to his fame, with the film clinching the Best Picture and Best Screenplay at the Academy Awards. Post 2017, he has been part of various noted projects.
