**Vanessa Nuala Kirby**, born on April 18, 1988, is a celebrated English actress. Her roles in action films such as **Hobbs & Shaw** (2019) and the **Mission: Impossible** film series since 2018 widened her appeal. Her acclaimed performance as a grief-stricken woman in **Pieces of a Woman** (2020) garnered her the Volpi Cup for Best Actress and a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Kirby was raised in Wimbledon, London and educated at the University of Exeter. Her path to acting was not smooth; after being turned down by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Kirby took a gap year to travel and work in an AIDS hospice in South Africa. Kirby's career grew from stage roles in notable plays to television roles and finally to acclaimed performance in films. Her most recent portrayal is of Empress Joséphine in the historical drama **Napoleon** (2023). She has also co-founded a London-based production company, Aluna Entertainment, which has a first look deal with Netflix. There are currently no records of Kirby having any children.
