Alister Grierson, born in 1969, is a significant character in the Australian film industry, known for his remarkable film directing and scriptwriting talents. He was born in Canberra, where he also completed his secondary schooling at Canberra Grammar. Following his educational journey, Grierson graduated in Economics and Arts from the Australian National University. He further enriched his knowledge by studying Japanese in Tokyo. Though he demonstrated significant skill in Australian Rules football, his love for creating films held premier importance. Eventually, he earned a Master of Arts in Directing at AFTRS and went on to create fifteen short films, claiming three prestigious Tropfest awards. Throughout his career, Grierson has made critical contributions to the film industry, and one notable feat is his co-written feature film, Kokoda. In 2009, his prowess caught the attention of the legendary James Cameron who invited him on the Avatar set. Grierson also directed Sanctum, a 3D cave-diving drama featuring the Fusion Camera System developed by Cameron. Furthermore, he directed Parer's War, a dramatised biopic and Nowhere Boys, an award-winning ABC series. His latest direction, Tiger, won Best Feature Film at the San Diego International Film Festival
