Nicholas Stoller

Nicholas Stoller is a highly respected British-American filmmaker, best known for his work in the comedy genre. Born in London on March 19, 1976, he has effectively directed several widely known and adored movies, including Forgetting Sarah Marshall in 2008, the film's spin-off/sequel Get Him to the Greek in 2010, and The Five-Year Engagement in 2012. His repertoire also includes notable titles such as Neighbors (2014), its sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and most recently Bros (2022). Stoller's versatility extends to screenwriting, having co-written the scripts for various films like Fun with Dick and Jane (2005), Yes Man (2008), and The Muppets (2011) and its sequel Muppets Most Wanted (2014). Furthermore, he has the distinction of co-creating the television series The Carmichael Show (2015–2017), Friends from College (2017–2019), and Platonic (2023–present).

Stoller's early life was spent between London and Miami, Florida, raised alongside his brother Matt Stoller by their parents, Phyllis and Eric C. Stoller. His roots in comedy started young when he wrote for the comedy publication The Harvard Lampoon and performed for the improv comedy troupe The Immediate Gratification Players during his undergraduate years at Harvard College. Since then, Stoller's career has been a succession of progressive successes, starting with his stint as a writer for Judd Apatow's television series Undeclared, moving on to co-write potentially game-changing comedy films, and eventually migrating to the director's chair with his debut film Forgetting Sarah Marshall. More recently, under his company, Stoller Global Solutions, he has renewed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television.
