Sarah Gavron

Sarah Gavron (born 20 April 1970) is a renowned British film director, recognized for her work in both short and feature films. Her directorial ventures commenced with 'This Little Life' in 2003, followed by 'Brick Lane' (2007), and 'Village at the End of the World' (2012). In 2015, she directed 'Suffragette', a film set in 1912 London, meticulously depicting the historical movement for women's rights. Most recently, she directed 'Rocks' (2020) in a creative collaboration with the team and young cast. Educated at Camden School for Girls, Gavron pursued BA in English from the University of York in 1992 and later, an MA in film studies from Edinburgh College of Art. Prior to venturing into feature filmmaking, she spent three years at the BBC working on documentaries.
