Scott Derrickson

Scott Derrickson, born on July 16, 1966, is an **American filmmaker** renowned for his work in the horror genre. Some of his most noted works include *The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005)*, *Sinister (2012)*, *The Black Phone (2021)*, and the highly-anticipated sequel, *The Black Phone 2 (2025)*. On top of that, Derrickson is also well-known for his contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the superhero film *Doctor Strange (2016)*. Derrickson kickstarted his career in the industry with Hellraiser: Inferno, part of the Hellraiser series, which was released directly to video in 2000. Since then, Derrickson's extensive career has included a variety of high-grossing films, such as *The Exorcism of Emily Rose*, which netted over $144 million globally and won the 2005 Saturn Award for Best Horror or Thriller Film.
