Shane Black

Shane Black (born December 16, 1961) is an influential American filmmaker and actor. He earned his fame with notable contributions in films such as Lethal Weapon, The Monster Squad, The Last Boy Scout, Last Action Hero, and The Long Kiss Goodnight. Interestingly, he was also the creator of the Lethal Weapon franchise. Black successfully embedded his acting charisma in the character 'Rick Hawkins' from the movie Predator (1987). His directorial venture began in 2005 with the film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Over the following years, he went on to write and direct films such as Iron Man 3 (2013), The Nice Guys (2016), and The Predator (2018). Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Black developed an interest in hardboiled fiction under the influence of his father who worked in the printing business. He later moved to California during his high school period and majored in film and theater from UCLA.
