Plot Summary

As the eve of Jeff’s 21st birthday approaches, his long-time friends Casey and Miller (Casey and Miller) concoct a plan to mark the occasion with a night out on the town. Despite Jeff’s initial hesitation, citing an important medical school interview the following day, Miller’s persistence eventually wears him down, and he agrees to join them for just one drink. Little do they know, this impromptu celebration will spiral into chaos.

As the trio ventures into a local bar, Jeff’s inexperience with his newfound freedom leads to a series of unfortunate events. In a momentary lapse of judgment, he accidentally hurls a dart that strikes Randy, sending the young man into a rage. Fleeing the scene, they abandon Casey’s budding connection with Nicole, who remains oblivious to their departure.

As the night wears on, Jeff becomes increasingly inebriated, his inhibitions slowly dissolving. Casey and Miller, desperate to intervene before things get out of hand, try to coax him back to reality. However, their attempts are foiled when they realize they’ve forgotten where Jeff lives – a problem that will only be solved by tracking down Nicole, who is the key to unlocking the mystery of Jeff’s whereabouts.

In a misguided attempt to locate Nicole, they infiltrate what they believe to be her sorority house. Unbeknownst to them, this is actually the residence of a Latina sorority, and their presence sparks outrage among its members. As tensions escalate, Casey and Miller are forced to make a hasty retreat, leaving Jeff behind in the chaos.

In a desperate bid to extricate themselves from the situation, they resort to a rather unorthodox method – launching Jeff from a balcony onto a pool cover that deposits him into a rose garden with a thud. Initially, they worry they may have inadvertently killed their friend, but as Jeff emerges from his unexpected landing, it becomes clear he’s only suffered a few minor scratches – albeit with a rather embarrassing handful of thorns lodged in his buttocks.

As they frantically search for Nicole, Miller and Casey are steered towards Randy, her boyfriend, who proves to be a reluctant ally. When Randy refuses to yield the information, Miller resorts to coercion, brandishing the pistol discovered on Jeff’s person to commandeer his phone. The tense standoff sparks a chain reaction, as a panicked buffalo charges at Randy and others in its path. Amidst the chaos, they finally pinpoint the address, only to discover that it no longer serves as Randy’s residence. Instead, they stumble upon a raucous party, where they must navigate a series of games to gain access to the individual who might possess the coveted information.

Their perseverance eventually pays off, and they secure an audience with the potential informant. However, this individual is unable to provide the desired address, instead revealing fragments of Jeff’s troubled past. A gun is discovered on his person, and it becomes apparent that he has a history of violent behavior, earning him notoriety as a menace.

As Miller and Casey delve deeper into Jeff’s psyche, they uncover a trail of deceit and manipulation. They entrust the care of their friend to two carefree students, who, in a moment of mischief, strip Jeff naked and affix a teddy bear to his genital area. Abandoned on the street in this vulnerable state, Jeff is eventually apprehended by authorities.

Seeking to rectify the situation, Miller and Casey visit the police station, where they’re informed that Jeff has been transferred to a mental institution. A seemingly benevolent woman offers to escort them to their destination, but this turns out to be a ruse orchestrated by the vengeful Latina women. As retribution for past wrongs, they subject Miller and Casey to a brutal physical punishment, leaving them with severely bruised buttocks.

Forced to endure the indignity of walking naked on campus, save for the humiliation-inducing addition of socks covering their genital areas, the duo must navigate this ordeal together. Along the way, Casey’s frustration towards Miller comes to a head, as he blames his friend’s lack of accountability for the entire debacle.

As Jeff’s fate hangs precariously in the balance, Casey and Miller launch a daring rescue mission from the confines of the mental health facility. The hospital’s refusal to release Jeff sparks their determination, leading them to uncover the shocking truth about his past - a botched suicide attempt that landed him behind bars for attempted murder. Undeterred by the risks, they orchestrate a clandestine escape, culminating in a heart-pumping moment as they literally toss Jeff from the third floor, only to discover he emerges unscathed once more.

As they flee the scene, Jeff, now roused and restless, commandeers Randy’s car - unaware that it belongs to his unsuspecting friend. The trio embarks on a reckless joyride, punctuated by Jeff’s erratic driving, before finally arriving at his true address, as revealed in his hospital file. With Casey and Miller’s guidance, Jeff prepares for the interview of a lifetime, shedding his vulnerable persona like a worn-out cloak.

Randy, meanwhile, has arrived at Jeff’s doorstep with a mission to destroy the room - a move that is swiftly countered by Jeff’s father, who lands a telling blow. Encouraged by Casey and Miller, Jeff musters the courage to confess his true feelings to his dad, revealing his reluctance to pursue medical school as dictated by his parent. The elder’s refusal to accept this newfound perspective sparks a dramatic confrontation, one that ultimately culminates in Randy’s admiration for Jeff’s bravery and their reconciliation.

As the dust settles, Miller finds himself driven to excel academically, seeking to redeem his lackluster marks with a stellar performance at a music festival - an event attended by Casey, Nicole (now his girlfriend), and Jeff. As the night wears on, Miller becomes increasingly reckless, arriving at his professor’s doorstep with a broken leg and an unmistakable mane of red hair. To their collective surprise, this eccentric figure turns out to be none other than the enigmatic loner who has been dancing alone in the streets - a serendipitous encounter that underscores the power of redemption and new beginnings.
