As Gunner’s Mate Second Class Joe Brady ([unknown actor]) and Seaman First Class Clarence Doolittle ([unknown actor]) embark on a thrilling four-day leave in the glittering realm of Hollywood, their escapade transforms into a delightful narrative woven with chance encounters, whimsical incidents, and profound connections. On the other hand, Clarence, a former choir boy now donning the sailor’s cap, seeks Joe’s guidance on navigating the uncharted seas of love. Their hilarious misadventures kick off when they cross paths with Donald, an eager young lad, who dreams of enlisting in the Navy, inadvertently dragging them into an amusing series of events that feel just like a movie script come to life.

As luck would have it, both Clarence and Joe receive a summons from the authorities, tasked with persuading Donald to return home. However, rather than completing their mission, they find themselves caught up in their own mischief. In the midst of this delightful chaos, they encounter Aunt Susie, a woman who aspires to musical fame and dreams of sharing the stage with the renowned José Iturbi. In a bid to impress her, Joe spins an elaborate tale about Clarence’s connection to Iturbi, falsely claiming he has arranged an audition for Susie. This outrageous fib leads them on an exhilarating chase across the city, ultimately culminating in a charming café setting (lovingly recreated by MGM as Olvera Street) where Clarence meets his perfect match — a charming girl from Brooklyn.
