What profession does John J. secretly hold?

Plot Summary

As the sun sets over New York City’s concrete jungle, John J. (character name) is secretly living a life of calculated violence as a hitman, concealing his true nature from his loving girlfriend and her young daughter who have captured his heart. One fateful night, he dispatches a target with precision at a crowded club, effortlessly vanishing into the shadows.

However, his next assignment takes him to Buenos Aires, where he is tasked by his boss to eliminate a corrupt general. John arrives in Argentina, meeting with the men behind the hit, and begins meticulously planning the operation. Despite his initial insistence on completing the job within three days, the plan evolves, affording him ample time to immerse himself in the city’s vibrant culture.

It is here that John becomes entranced by the mesmerizing beauty of tango dancers at local clubs, particularly the captivating Manuela. He asks her to teach him the art of tango, and although she is initially hesitant, he eventually wins her over with a candid conversation over coffee. As they bond, John learns about Manuela’s life as a single mother to a two-year-old daughter, and she discovers his own complex reality.

As John’s preparations for the hit job continue, so does his fascination with tango. He spends countless nights dancing with Manuela and her sister, honing his skills and building a connection that transcends their initial mutual attraction. The lines between his two worlds begin to blur as he grows increasingly disillusioned with the men behind the hit.

Seizing control of the situation, John brings forward the assassination, evading both the gangsters and the authorities in the process. Though he had promised to meet Manuela and her daughter at a park, his new reality takes precedence, leaving him scrambling to escape the country.

As John returns to New York City, he reunites with his girlfriend and her daughter, sharing with them some of the tango moves that have become an integral part of his experience. In a poignant postscript, Manuela shares a video of new tango lessons in a voiceover, hoping that John will continue to learn and grow from their shared passion.
