Josh has always dreamed of making his mark on Broadway, and this dream comes to life when he receives an unexpected letter from Rainbow Puppy, a cherished friend of Periwinkle. The letter invites him to New York City for an audition for her latest show, Happiness is Magic. This opportunity fills Josh with both excitement and anxiety, but he is fortunate to have his friends rallying around him, providing the much-needed encouragement. Mr. Salt even writes down the theater’s address in Josh’s trusty notebook, and with Blue, they hop onto the Skidoo Express bus, eagerly embarking on their urban adventure.

Upon their arrival in the vibrant city, Josh reaches for his notebook only to discover it has mysteriously disappeared. Without this crucial piece of information, he feels lost and overwhelmed. In a moment of inspiration, Blue leaps into action, employing their renowned problem-solving skills to lead them through a series of engaging Blue’s Clues challenges, with viewers joining in to help. During their quest, they meet the talented Broadway star, Ali Stroker, who imparts invaluable advice about the significance of preparation to combat nerves. Additionally, the impressive Taboo provides musical insights to elevate Josh’s self-confidence.

As they meticulously search for clues, they encounter an enchanting trio of rainbow curtains, a beautiful piano inviting them to play, and a stage that eagerly beckons them to perform. The revelation dawns upon them: the audition they seek happens to take place at a theater adorned with these very features. Meanwhile, back at their beloved Blue’s Clues house, Josh’s friends realize his notebook is missing and spring into action. They send Mr. Salt, Tickety Tock, and Slippery Soap on a jet-setting mission to retrieve it for Josh.

In parallel to their adventure, Steve Burns at the Blue Prints Detective Agency steps in to offer sage advice, while Donovan Patton assists at a local store by crafting a colorful balloon message spelling out the names of Josh and Blue, to inform them of the friends’ rescue mission. Unfortunately, their well-intentioned balloon display soon deflates, leaving our heroes unaware of the brief glory. Meanwhile, Rainbow Puppy and her directing partner are left unimpressed by the audition contenders at the venue where Josh’s big opportunity awaits.

As the Blue’s Clues mystery nears its conclusion, Josh and Blue find themselves embarking on yet another adventure: a taxi ride to the theater. Although they are somewhat unsure of the exact address, fate intervenes as they spot familiar faces in the taxi’s backseat, including Steve Burns, Donovan Patton, Mr. Salt, Tickety Tock, and Slippery Soap. The group unites, and Mr. Salt graciously hands Josh his cherished handy-dandy notebook, a true emblem of their collaborative problem-solving spirit. As the taxi weaves through the bustling city streets, Mr. Salt provides their driver with the pivotal address: 12345 Broadway.

Upon reaching their destination, they find that the auditions have wrapped up. However, Josh, undaunted, takes to the stage and begins to sing. His spontaneous performance captures the attention of none other than Rainbow Puppy and the show’s director, who, thoroughly impressed, offer him the lead role in the production. With their combined efforts, the crew brings the show to life, thrilling the audience with a resounding applause. As the curtain descends on this theatrical adventure, Josh sincerely thanks his dedicated viewers for their unwavering support throughout his journey.

In a charming post-credits scene, as Josh prepares for bedtime, he turns to the camera, signaling the end of the movie. With Blue snuggled beside him, they sweetly harmonize in “The So Long Song,” gracefully concluding their cinematic journey with warmth and affection.
