What shocking revelation does Bucky Larson discover about his parents?

Plot Summary

In a small-town Iowa setting, Bucky Larson (played by Paul Schneider) lives a life of innocence, working at a local grocery store and still residing with his family. His mundane existence is turned upside down when he stumbles upon a shocking revelation while watching pornography with friends - his parents were once famous adult performers in the 1970s. This newfound knowledge sparks an unquenchable desire within Bucky to follow in their footsteps, leaving behind the quiet life and aiming for stardom in Hollywood’s adult film industry.

However, Bucky’s journey is marked by uncertainty, as he has no idea how to navigate the complexities of becoming a porn star like his parents. Furthermore, his physical attributes are less than impressive, with an undersized penis that seems destined to hinder his chances of success.

Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Bucky meets Kathy (played by Odette Yustman), a kind-hearted waitress who introduces him to Gary (played by Jim Piddock), the former roommate of John Mayer. As he settles into this new environment, Bucky pursues his dream of becoming a porn actor, but his misadventures only seem to multiply.

A series of embarrassing mishaps culminates in an industry party, where he is mercilessly mocked by narcissistic adult film star Dick Shadow (played by Michael Rauch). The next day, he meets Miles Deep (played by Robert Davi), a fading porn director who offers him a chance to make a test film. However, their collaboration ends in disaster when Bucky prematurely ejaculates, rendering the project a failure.

But fate has other plans for Bucky. When one of the crew members uploads the video to YouTube, he unexpectedly becomes an internet sensation due to his small penis, which women appreciate and men do not feel threatened by. Despite this newfound fame, Miles ultimately decides against signing Bucky to an adult film contract, instead choosing to produce films independently with him.

As their independent projects gain traction, Bucky’s videos become a huge success. However, he soon realizes that his true passion lies not in fame, but in love and relationships. Before he can confess his feelings to Kathy, she rejects him without explanation, leaving him heartbroken. It later transpires that Miles had intentionally sabotaged their relationship by telling Kathy to leave Bucky.

Heartbroken and seeking solace, Bucky forgives Miles and sets out to win back Kathy’s affections. He confronts her on a terrible date with Dick Shadow (played by Michael Rauch) and declares his love for her. The two eventually get married and start a new life together.

A year later, Bucky opens his own steakhouse, symbolizing the culmination of his journey from small-town naivety to independence and self-discovery. However, his newfound success is short-lived as Gary (played by Jim Piddock) bursts into the restaurant, berating him for owing rent money and sarcastically comparing him to John Mayer.
