Against the vibrant backdrop of Philadelphia’s iconic Overbrook High School, the lives of three siblings - Sergio Taylor, the nation’s top-ranked high school basketball player; June, his older brother who once chased hoop dreams but was sidetracked by financial struggles after their father’s passing; and Jackie, the eldest sibling with a passion for music - intertwine in a poignant exploration of youthful aspirations. As Sergio navigates the treacherous landscape of early fame, he must confront the weighty pressures that come with being a household name. Meanwhile, June’s path is marked by the harsh realities of growing up in a city where the life expectancy of a black male is alarmingly low - just 25 years old.

Philadelphia, a metropolis scarred by over 400 murders last year alone and crippled by an all-time high unemployment rate, provides the gritty terrain upon which this story unfolds.
