Plot Summary

In the mist-shrouded landscape of Northern Wales, a chilling tale unfolds as a notorious serial killer, dubbed the Wedlock Killer, claims the lives of unsuspecting young women. His gruesome modus operandi involves dismembering his victims before their brutal murders, leaving behind a trail of terror and despair. As news of another victim spreads, Laurie Wolf, a fiery radio DJ (played by), finds herself at a crossroads. Her local radio program has been abruptly cancelled, and she’s struggling to find a new job amidst the corporate-driven playlists that have taken over the airwaves.

On the final day of her show, Laurie unleashes her frustration on her listeners, railing against the soulless music and rigid programming that have strangled the life out of local radio. Her engineer, Ben Evans, suggests they invite psychic Carla Zaza onto their broadcast as a way to further antagonize their corporate overlords. Despite her initial skepticism, Laurie reluctantly agrees.

As the broadcast prepares to go live, an intriguing figure emerges in Kate Komisarczyk (played by), who is having an online conversation with Ben that sends her boyfriend, Nick Keller, into a tailspin of anxiety. Nick believes Kate is being naive by befriending strangers from the internet, and he’s determined to put a stop to it. But Kate has other plans.

Kate tells her babysitter that she’s heading out to attend the radio broadcast, but instead, she takes Nick on a little detour – a break-in at a nearby mansion. As they carry out their illicit activity, Kate fails to notice a ghostly apparition momentarily materializing in her car. The old man who approaches her is just as oblivious, and he’s more concerned about the fact that she’s trespassing on private property.

As Kate waits for Nick to return with petrol, she tunes into Laurie’s broadcast and listens intently as the radio DJ dismissively interviews Carla Zaza. However, Carla becomes increasingly convinced that there’s something strange afoot when she detects an anomaly in the broadcast signal – evidence of electronic voice phenomenon.

As Nick reaches out to check in with Kate, she seizes the opportunity to dispose of the enigmatic old man by conjuring up a tale of escaped farm animals, assuming he’s a local farmer Nick had mentioned might appear. The man, seemingly oblivious to her deception, reveals that he resides within the sprawling mansion. Confusion sets in as Kate demands explanations from Nick, only for him to confess his story was fabricated - but before he can elaborate, he meets a gruesome end. As Kate delves deeper into the mansion’s secrets, a live séance unfolds, led by Carla. The spirit, Sarah, materializes and reveals that the Wedlock Killer claimed her life on a farm.

Kate’s investigation leads her to discover Sarah’s lifeless body within the mansion walls. The old man, Alan - Nick’s father - accuses Kate of murdering his daughter. Before he can exact vengeance, the Wedlock Killer strikes again, claiming his latest victim. As Kate frees herself from her restraints, she finds her dying boyfriend, Nick, who reveals that his desperation to survive drove him to steal from his own family.

Meanwhile, Marek becomes unwittingly possessed by Sarah’s spirit after tuning into the séance on the radio. Kate rushes to the station, where she finds everyone except for Marek and Ben lying lifeless. Ben explains that the broadcast was pre-recorded the previous night and transmitted from tape. He plays the final segment of the recording for Kate, revealing Laurie’s shocking discovery - he is the Wedlock Killer. As the truth sets in, Kate stabs her attacker and flees, guided by Sarah’s ghost to a room where Ben has Marek captive, handcuffed to the wall. Just as she’s about to free him, Ben knocks her unconscious.

Kate revives just in time to thwart Ben’s attempt to immolate her. She fights back, but ultimately finds herself overpowered once more. As Ben prepares to douse her in petrol, Sarah materializes before him, sending him into a brief panic that causes him to spill the flammable liquid on himself. Kate seizes the opportunity to grab his lighter and set him ablaze, putting an end to his evil deeds. With Ben defeated, Kate rushes back to the radio station to free Marek, as Laurie’s final words play out, questioning the existence of an afterlife and renouncing her earlier skepticism about the paranormal.
