Plot Summary

In a desperate bid to revive their fallen leader, Sorbet, commander of the dwindling remnants of Frieza’s military, embarks on a perilous journey to Earth, where he coerces the Pilaf Gang into retrieving and harnessing the mystical Dragon Balls. The ancient artifact’s power enables them to summon Shenron, the eternal dragon capable of granting wishes. However, this attempt at resurrection is met with an unforeseen twist: Frieza’s reanimation occurs in a state of dismemberment, forcing Sorbet’s minions to utilize their advanced technology to painstakingly reassemble his ravaged form. The revitalized Frieza seizes control of his forces once more and unleashes a reign of terror upon some of his underlings before setting his sights on exacting revenge against the mighty Super Saiyans.

Meanwhile, Jaco the Galactic Patrolman arrives on Earth bearing grave news: Frieza’s return is imminent. As Goku and Vegeta are away honing their skills with Whis on the planet of Beerus, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Master Roshi, Tien Shinhan, and Jaco converge to confront this impending threat. United in their determination to repel Frieza’s invasion, they valiantly battle against countless soldiers, emerging victorious but ultimately overwhelmed by Frieza’s newfound prowess following his rigorous training.

Bulma, ever the strategist, successfully establishes a connection with Whis, alerting Goku and Vegeta to Frieza’s return. The Saiyans hasten back to Earth, rescuing their comrades and facing off against their arch-nemesis. As the two foes engage in an epic struggle, Whis and Beerus watch with keen interest from afar. Goku takes the first swing at Frieza but soon realizes he is holding back, prompting a mutual agreement between the combatants to unleash their full potential.

In a spectacular display of power, Goku transforms into an otherworldly Super Saiyan form, characterized by radiant blue locks and aura (later dubbed Super Saiyan Blue), while Frieza assumes a resplendent gold-plated form, which he dubs Golden Frieza. Initially, Frieza gains the upper hand, but Goku soon discovers that his opponent’s golden form is riddled with vulnerabilities due to its inexperience.

As the dust settles from the epic battle, Goku emerges victorious against Frieza, only to be caught off guard by Sorbet’s cunning raygun attack. The usually unyielding Frieza momentarily stands over the incapacitated Goku, offering Vegeta a tantalizing opportunity to exact revenge and solidify his position as second-in-command. However, the proud Prince of Saiyans refuses to take the bait, instead transforming into the formidable Super Saiyan Blue and launching a blistering assault on Frieza.

As Krillin attempts to revive Goku with a precious Senzu bean, Frieza seizes the opportunity to strike back at the would-be savior, only for Vegeta to deftly deflect the energy blast, inadvertently killing Sorbet in the process. The usually composed Vegeta is then consumed by a fierce determination, dominating Frieza and leaving him humiliated. In a fit of rage, Frieza unleashes a devastating energy blast that obliterates Earth, ultimately claiming the life of his nemesis Vegeta.

As the remnants of the planet dissipate into space, Goku, Beerus, and their companions find themselves sheltered by Whis, drifting aimlessly on a small patch of earth. The somber mood is soon alleviated when Whis reveals that he can manipulate time, rewinding it back up to three minutes. Seizing this chance, Goku swiftly dispatches Frieza with a powerful Kamehameha, leaving Vegeta seething with indignation.

In the aftermath, Goku and Vegeta engage in a candid discussion about the wisdom of working together against formidable foes like Frieza. While Vegeta scoffs at the notion, Goku humorously agrees to the proposal, prompting Vegeta to remark that it’s high time they found common ground. In a post-credits scene, Frieza returns to his fiery abode in Hell, only to be met with an unexpected welcome mat.
