In the vibrant cityscape of Delhi, four misfits, affectionately known as "Fukrey," converge in their pursuit of easy riches. The motley crew comprises two school backbenchers, Hunny (Pulkit Samrat) and Choocha (Varun Sharma), perpetually scheming to strike it big. Their paths intersect with Zafar (Ali Fazal), a struggling musician, and Lali (Manjot Singh), whose father owns a quaint sweets shop. Lali's personal life is complicated by his correspondence course college education and a girlfriend who attends regular classes, with whom he is eager to impress.

As Hunny and Choocha yearn to gain access to higher education, they cunningly secure school exam papers a day in advance from Pandit (Pankaj Tripathi), the college guard, for a handsome sum of Rs 50,000. Each night, Choocha's subconscious yields prophetic dreams, which Hunny interprets as lottery numbers, leading them to consistently win small-stakes games.

Lali, meanwhile, is desperate to transition from correspondence courses to regular college enrollment and needs to excel in his first-year exams. He finds solace in learning accounting from Bindu (Zafar's girlfriend), only to have their relationship end due to Zafar's lack of commitment, refusing a steady job for the sake of their relationship.

As Lali's father refuses to cough up Rs 2.5 Lakhs to secure Pandit's assistance with college papers, the four friends converge at Pandit's humble abode, where Hunny proposes an audacious plan: they will gather funds to invest in the next lottery based on Choocha's recurring dreams. If fortune favors them, they can meet everyone's financial needs. Their quest for an investor leads them to Zafar, who involves local gangster Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadda) in their scheme.

Bholi, a cunning female matriarch with various illicit businesses, agrees to provide the necessary capital when Lali offers his father's shop as collateral. As excitement reaches fever pitch, Choocha finds himself unable to sleep that night, only to concoct a dream the next morning to extricate himself from Hunny's relentless teasing.

As it becomes increasingly apparent that Hunny's number is a fabrication, Bholi's financial gamble on the group's behalf goes up in smoke, resulting in a substantial debt of 4.4 lakhs. In a last-ditch effort to recoup their losses, she coerces the friends into selling 500 ecstasy pills at a rave party on the Gurgaon-FBD border, using Choocha as collateral and inadvertently fostering romantic delusions within him. Meanwhile, Hunny seeks to alleviate their predicament by recruiting Priya, a neighbor's daughter, to accompany Lali and Zafar to the party, under the guise of gaining access.

However, the authorities intervene, and the friends are forced to scatter in disarray. In the chaos, Lali manages to escape with the pills, pursued by the police. As Hunny attempts to take advantage of Priya's presence while hiding from the law, he finds himself on the receiving end of a well-deserved rebuke.

Lali and Zafar converge on Bindu's residence, only to find themselves in a precarious situation as the police close in. Bindu's timely intervention, posing as Lali's teacher and Zafar her fiancé, successfully diverts attention away from their illicit activities. In a stunning turn of events, she claims to have disposed of the contraband, leaving Lali frantic about the substantial financial loss.

The group is subsequently confronted by Bholi, who reveals that she had orchestrated the police raid in an attempt to extort the money and secure the drugs for herself. The friends are left reeling, forced to beg for forgiveness and facing a daunting 24-hour deadline to raise 25 lakhs as payment.

Choocha's initial dreams are exposed as mere fabrications, but he insists that his subsequent vision is genuine – only this time, they're without an investor. Bindu, however, agrees to back their venture, which culminates in a life-changing lottery win. The friends return the owed sum to Bholi and negotiate a deal for an additional 7 lakhs' worth of ecstasy pills.

Unbeknownst to them, the police has been aware of their confessions and concocts a plan to apprehend Bholi by getting her caught red-handed with the pills. As she emerges from her bathroom with the incriminating evidence, the authorities are waiting in ambush. In the end, Hunny and Choocha finally secure their college spot for three months hence.
