As the enchanting spirit of Christmas envelops a tranquil lakeside getaway, Madison’s (Vanessa Marano) simmering frustration with her mother, Charlotte (Gabrielle Carteris), surfaces just as sharply as the biting cold of winter air. In pursuit of relief from their family festivities, Madison and her lackadaisical boyfriend, Jimmy (Benjamin Papac), make an intriguing discovery—a flickering light glowing in the otherwise deserted house of their neighbors. Their curiosity piqued, they venture inside, where they encounter an enigmatic Ouija board. Amidst their revelry, they succumb to intoxication and fall into a deep slumber, unaware of the chaos that awaits them.

The following morning delivers a rude awakening, revealing their temporary retreat in complete disarray. A desperate 911 call offers no immediate resolution, and when the police finally arrive, suspicions about Madison and Jimmy’s involvement begin to swirl. As minors, they are forced to linger in the area while the investigation unfolds, leading to their temporary custody under Uncle Andy (Chris Mulkey)‘s watchful eye.

However, their troubles escalate when Andy’s home becomes the next target, compelling the trio to seek refuge at their family’s main residence. Here, the fear of unwanted visitors fuels their determination, inspiring Madison and Jimmy to create an array of cunning booby traps reminiscent of Home Alone. They prepare for the impending arrival of the intruders, turning their anxiety into resourceful ingenuity.

As the opportunistic burglars, Patrick (Sonny Valicenti) and Christine (Abbie Cobb), make their entrance, Madison finds herself embroiled in a high-stakes showdown, necessitating a strong alliance with Jimmy. Together, they strategize to defend their new sanctuary and outsmart their foes, diving headfirst into an exhilarating battle for survival.
