I Dream in Another Language

Deep within the lush rainforest of Veracruz, Mexico, linguist Martin (no specific actor credited) embarks on a quest to preserve the ancient tongue of Zikril, a language on the cusp of extinction. Upon arrival in the remote village where he'll spend months immersed in the culture, he's met with an unexpected challenge: Isauro and Evaristo, the last two native speakers of Zikril, have been estranged for 50 years due to a decades-old feud. Whispers among the villagers hint at a complex backstory, one rooted in a deep-seated grudge sparked by their shared passion for Evaristo's late wife.

As the urgency of the project and Isauro's declining health intensify, Martin seizes the opportunity to mediate between the two childhood friends. He forms a bond with Evaristo's granddaughter, and together they begin to unravel the tangled threads of their past.
