Check out what happened in I Still See You!

The once-thriving Ashburn Laboratories in Chicago succumb to chaos when a devastating explosion ravages the facility, claiming countless lives and leaving behind an eerie aftermath. The blast awakens ghostly remnants, eerily indistinguishable from their former human counterparts, whose lifeless forms reenact mundane actions at predetermined intervals. Ten years later, the world is still reeling from this catastrophe.

For Veronica 'Ronnie' Calder (no relation to her late father Robert), daily existence has become a blur of routine and uncertainty. Her mother's reluctance to acknowledge her deceased father's spectral presence at their breakfast table only adds to Ronnie's unease. This sense of disconnection culminates in an unsettling encounter with Brian, a remnant whose brief appearance on the family mirror is accompanied by an ominous message: "run." As Ronnie struggles to process this eerie portent, she begins to experience strange and terrifying occurrences.

The arrival of Mr. Bittner's class on remnants sparks a morbid fascination within Ronnie. Her growing unease is further exacerbated when she starts bleeding from her ear during one particularly intense session. Believing Brian may be orchestrating these events to harm her, Ronnie confides in Kirk, her new classmate and self-proclaimed expert on all things remnants. Together, they embark on a perilous investigation into Brian's identity.

Their research yields a shocking revelation: Brian was suspected of abducting and murdering Mary Greer, the daughter of Pastor Greer. A visit to the grieving pastor reveals that Brian indeed took his own life after Mary's disappearance. Ronnie is stunned by an unexpected connection – she shares the same birthday as her supposed murderer, Mary.

The school principal, Pescatelli, summons Kirk to his office to discuss their inquiry into Mary's tragic fate. As tensions escalate, Ronnie begins experiencing vivid visions of Brian during a school basketball game. In a shocking turn of events, Principal Pescatelli's lifeless body crashes through the ceiling, prompting Kirk to surmise that the principal's death is directly linked to their investigation.

As they delve deeper into the mystery, Ronnie and Kirk uncover connections between Brian and the brutal murders of Emma Shaw and Claire White. The sister of the latter, Kerry, reveals a chilling truth: Brian was her sister's boyfriend. With this new information, the pair dares to venture into the treacherous 'No-Go Zone' in search of answers.

Their journey takes them to Ashburn Laboratories in Darkness Falls, where they encounter Dr. Martin Steiner (no relation to Ronnie), now a disheveled and troubled soul. The once-renowned scientist reveals that his research aimed to resurrect the deceased using living vessels – but at what terrible cost? Brian's actions were motivated by a desperate attempt to make amends for the atrocities he committed, driven by the belief that shared birthdays held the key to transference.

As Steiner is finally freed from his burden of knowledge, he takes his own life in a tragic epilogue.

The school administrators' sudden and stern actions send shockwaves through the atmosphere as they apprehend Kirk, their suspicion sparked by the discovery of a firearm in his locker. Ronnie's desperate appeal to Mr. Bittner yields only cryptic guidance, her friend's revelation that Kirk was expelled from his previous institution for possessing a weapon further solidifying the administration's suspicions. As the clock ticks away towards Ronnie's impending birthday, Mr. Bittner vows to shield her from harm, his determination fueled by the ominous forecast that Brian will attempt to eliminate her in order to resurrect one of the deceased women.

Meanwhile, Kirk becomes increasingly convinced that the gun was intentionally planted, a theory he struggles to convey to Ronnie, whose skepticism only grows. As the days tick by, Bittner's efforts to fortify Ronnie's home become more pronounced, with the installation of a panic room lined with lead, designed to prevent any potential remnants from breaching its defenses.

Kirk's investigation into Bittner's past leads him to uncover a dark and sinister truth: the seemingly benevolent educator was once Dr. Steiner's research partner, driven by an unyielding desire to resurrect his deceased daughter, Eva. When Kirk confronts Bittner at his home, he is met with a violent reprisal, left unconscious and buried alive.

Ronnie's discovery of Bittner's true intentions sends her reeling: she realizes that the educator has been systematically murdering young women who share her birthday, hoping to find a suitable vessel for Eva. Her escape from Bittner's clutches leads her to a frozen lake, where she finds herself face-to-face with the icy waters and the ghosts of Mary Greer and Brian.

As Ronnie struggles to stay conscious, memories of her father's lessons on ice skating at that very same lake flood her mind. Kirk arrives just in time to rescue her from the freezing water, his own tale of being buried alive by his father's ghost a testament to the supernatural forces at play. Together, they visit Ronnie's father's grave, their resolve strengthened by the knowledge they now possess.

As they depart, Bittner's remnant lingers, its presence a haunting reminder that the truth behind the Chicago event remains shrouded in mystery.
