Check out what happened in Ice Age!

In a bygone era, when the Earth was still young and the climate harsh, an unlikely duo emerged - Manfred, a gruff but lovable mammoth, and Sid, a relentless optimist of a ground sloth. The two found themselves abandoned during the great migration of the Ice Age, leaving them to navigate the unforgiving landscape on their own. As Sid struggled to make sense of his solitary situation, he stumbled upon Carl and Frank, two rhinos who initially sought to do him harm but were thwarted by Manfred's timely intervention. The mammoth's actions left Sid feeling vulnerable and alone once more, prompting him to seek shelter beneath Manfred's imposing figure.

Meanwhile, a band of early humans - led by the stalwart Runar, his devoted wife Nadia, and their precious infant son Roshan - established camp near a breathtaking waterfall. Unbeknownst to them, Soto, a cunning leader of saber-toothed tigers, harbored a deep-seated grudge against humanity, fueled by the loss of half his pack. His trusted lieutenant, Diego, a cunning feline with a talent for stealth, was dispatched to carry out Soto's diabolical plan: the abduction and murder of Runar's young son Roshan.

As the humans prepared to depart for their mountain stronghold, Soto orchestrated a surprise attack, but Nadia's quick thinking allowed her to escape with Roshan, plunging Diego into a state of panic. The cat returned empty-pawed, prompting Soto to convene his pack at Half Peak, where they awaited Diego's return with the baby.

As Manfred and Sid continued their journey, the sloth's inquisitive nature often clashed with the mammoth's more taciturn demeanor. Their path crossed that of Nadia, exhausted and weakened after her daring leap over the waterfall, who entrusted Roshan to Manny before disappearing into thin air. The mammoth, though initially hesitant, felt an unexpected surge of responsibility towards the infant, while Sid was driven by a primal urge to return the baby to its "herd".

The unlikely pair encountered Diego, who claimed to possess the baby's interests at heart but was ultimately foiled in his plans. Manfred, skeptical of the cat's motives, agreed to help Sid reunite with his family, leaving Soto's pack behind. As they traversed the landscape, they stumbled upon the abandoned camp of the humans and decided to head north, guided by Diego, to Glacier Pass - a fateful destination that held the promise of reuniting Roshan with his kin and bringing closure to this tumultuous chapter in their lives.

As the trio ventures further north with the infant in tow, they encounter a peculiar flock of dodos, whose fanatical dedication to their leader yields a bounty of sustenance for the young one. Meanwhile, Diego secretly reunites with two trusted pack members, who convey Soto's demands for the baby's surrender; Diego responds by promising the little one and Manny's life, sending his minions back to their commander with a message that echoes through the tundra.

The next morning, Sid embarks on an ill-fated romantic escapade at a muddy oasis, where he attempts to woo two sedate sloths named Jennifer and Rachel using the baby as a prop. However, Manny intervenes, reclaiming the infant and returning it to its rightful place in the pack. Sid's second attempt at courting the sloths is foiled when Carl and Frank replace them, prompting the rhinos to give chase. In desperation, Sid turns to Diego, pleading for the saber-toothed tiger's assistance in fending off his pursuers. Diego obliges by feigning Sid's demise, successfully diverting the rhinos' attention before releasing his grip once they've disappeared from view. With the pack reunited, Diego suggests a shortcut to Manny and Sid, aiming to outmaneuver them into an ambush position. This detour leads them through an icy cavern and into a subterranean realm adorned with vivid paintings of animals.

Among these ancient artworks is an haunting mural depicting a mammoth family, brutally hunted by humans. The poignant revelation strikes Manny, transporting him back to the devastating losses he suffered at human hands: the slaughter of his wife and child, leaving only he behind. As the baby reaches out to the painting, Manny's grief begins to lift, replaced by a sense of peace and closure as he finally lets go of the bitterness that has consumed him since his family's demise.

As the group inches closer to Glacier Pass, they're met with a daunting obstacle: a vast expanse of molten lava stretching across their path. Diego teeters on the edge, perilously close to a scorching demise, when Manny springs into action, sacrificing his own icy footing in a desperate bid to save his friend. With Manny launched harmlessly out of the lava pit, Diego is left stunned and awestruck by the mammoth's selfless heroism. Meanwhile, Soto and his pack are hatching their own sinister plan to ambush Manny, with Diego unwittingly caught up in their scheme.

That night, as the group settles down around a crackling campfire, Diego begins to confront the error of his ways, realizing too late the gravity of betraying Manny's trust. His nocturnal epiphany is interrupted by Scrat's sudden appearance, intent on thawing out his prized acorn only to inadvertently bake it into a piping hot kernel instead. As the group presses on towards Half Peak, Diego's remorse for his past actions culminates in a heartfelt confession to Manny, which only serves to further enrage the mammoth.

Manny seizes Diego, pinning him to a rocky outcropping with every intention of exacting revenge for his treachery. But as Diego gazes up at him with a contrite heart, he finds himself agreeing to help Manny escape the clutches of Soto's pack. With Sid expertly leading the way, the group sets off in one direction while Manny is left to face off against his would-be attackers.

As Manny valiantly fends off the pack, Diego defects from Soto, choosing instead to defend his former friend at great personal risk. Soto responds by bringing Diego down, leaving him wounded and reeling. The defeated leader then turns his attention back to Manny, only to be met with a crushing blow that sends him tumbling into an ice wall. The resulting cascade of icicles impales Soto, and the once-formidable pack is left in disarray.

In the aftermath, Sid and Manny make their break from the Sabers, leaving behind a somber Oscar and Lenny mourning the loss of their leader, Soto.

As Manny, Sid, and the precious bundle of joy they've grown to care for are finally out of harm's way, the trio is met with a sobering reality: Diego lies gravely injured, his fate hanging precariously in the balance. As the weight of their predicament settles in, Manny and Sid are left to navigate the treacherous landscape alone, forced to confront the harsh realities of their new circumstances. Undeterred by the challenges ahead, they press on, driven by a burning determination to find the humans who hold the key to their survival.

Their quest leads them to the doorstep of the very same humans who had initially threatened their existence, but upon producing Roshan safe and sound, Manny's unwavering dedication earns the respect of Runar, who calls off the attack and bestows a beaded necklace upon him as a symbol of gratitude. With the baby safely returned, Runar departs, leaving Manny and Sid to ponder their next move.

Their search ultimately leads them to Diego, whose remarkable resilience has seen him survive the perils they had faced earlier. As Manny and Sid rush to his side, they're met with a heartwarming reunion that rekindles the trio's bond and sets the stage for a new chapter in their lives together. United once more, the three friends - now an inseparable herd - set their sights on the south, marking the beginning of a fresh journey as they embark on a new adventure, side by side.
